Imprisoned with the Pharaos, by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, written in March of 1924 and published in May of 1924 in Weird Tales, was commissioned by the magazine to exploit the popularity of the magician Harry Houdini, who was a shareholder of Weird Tales. The plot tells of a race of immortal pharaohs who dwell in large halls that lie beneath the pyramids, and walking down dark flights of stairs. WITHOUT ILLUSTRATIONS.
